RETURCAN AND THE FEDERATION OF LEISURE AND SERVICES, a business organization that represents more than 3,000 restaurants, bars, cafes, nightlife, game rooms, casinos, bingo halls and maritime leisure, will request the Government of the Canary Islands for its active participation in the "design of the plan of reactivation and reconversion of the sector "which will be launched by the Federation (FECAO). This has been made clear through the contact of the Government Counselor Mr. Blas Trujillo, in which they have indicated that their incorporation into this plan of reopening and activation of the hotel industry is necessary "so that the particularities of a sector with more than 20,000 catering establishments, which generates more than 80,000 jobs, and that if the administrations and the sector itself do not act, it could be "seriously affected". Likewise, the Federation has stressed that "without support measures to increase liquidity levels, the need for financing of hospitality companies to cover fixed operating expenses during the crisis would fluctuate between 100,000 and 200,000 million euros. According to the data that manages the hospitality sector, after the end of the crisis there could be a fall of around 30% in the volume of establishments, which currently stands at more than 10,000 stores. Its President, Bárbara Cabrera assures that, " can speak of some 15,000 Canarian companies with serious survival difficulties after the crisis. "
